I've been a professional tattooer for 7 years, and I started with hand-poking. But in the beginning there wasn't anything professional about it. It was just a fun thing to do with my friends. There’s a super satisfying feeling to creating something permanent and unique to that moment, no matter how it ends up looking. The spontaneity and the minimal setup, all the flaws that make each piece special—hand-poking is how I gained the confidence to pursue tattooing professionally, and it’s how I’ve made some of my best friends. The sense of community I’ve cultivated through tattooing is one of my favorite things about it, and I wouldn’t have any of that if I didn’t just go for it. 

So whether you're wanting to take tattooing more seriously, or you want to make it feel less serious, this kit is meant to take the intimidation out of it, and make it easy to start. 

Hand-poking is a specific kind of gratifying, that’s best explained in the doing of it, and I want that to be accessible to everyone.
